Tectyl EDM 702 is a newly developed electric-discharge machining fluid which has
excellent cooling and arc-disappearing effects. Tectyl EDM 702 is a clear, colorless and
odorless oil. It provides higher precision on EDM than conventional metalworking fluids,
and safety in the machining process due to its lower surface tension, lower kinematic
viscosity and its high flash point.

APPLICATION:
Generally, Tectyl EDM 702 can be applied for the machining of hard metals such as super
alloys, heat treated steels or heat resistant steels, which have good conductivity and
machine-ability of irregular forms.

CHARACTERISTICS:
(1) Safe Working Condition
The purpose of EDM fluid is to cool down the generating heat and arc-disappearance. But,
When it has been used for a long time, arc-disappearing ability will be diminished because
of metal powder forms surrounding the work-piece. Therefore, if you use low flash point oil,
danger of fire will be increased. In summer, if oil temperature rises by means of working
heat, danger of fire becomes higher as well. The viscosity of Tectyl EDM 702 is low,
therefore, fine metal powder can be rapidly precipitated to the bottom of reservoir. At the
same time, as the flash point of Tectyl EDM 702 is much higher than conventional oil, it
gives us safer working conditions
(2) Long life of metalworking fluid.
Petroleum type base oil is made up of hydrocarbon and it is easily oxidized.
Oil is usually oxidized due to oxygen in the air and oil soluble oxide is constituted with the
lapse of time, it turns into insoluble substance which are resin, sludge and acid material etc
through process of polymerization and condensation. As Tectyl EDM 702 is incorporated
with anti-oxidant that control oxidizing reaction, it can be used for a long time, only by
supplement of using fluid.
(3) Reduction of supplementary volume of fluid.
It is more economical than any other oils because less supplement needed for the making
up the amount by covering of parts and less volatilized, even at higher temperature when it
is not polluted seriously.
(4) Effect on health and machine-ability
Tectyl EDM 702 is made up by well-refined base oil and it is odorless and provides us
pleasant working atmosphere. Especially, it dose not cause any stimulating dermatitis
occurring in case of applying the strong volatile and light viscosity oils. Also, Tectyl EDM
702 shows very stabilized and advanced performance on precision machining of
work-pieces.
